BRANDI ELIZABETH
UNDERWOOD
I am a photographer, playwright, librettist, multimedia designer, and theatre marketer who loves telling stories any way I can. I’m devoted to creating contemporary musical theatre. I leverage my marketing background and creative tools to collaborate better and advocate for new work and theatre. I do everything in my power to create meaningful work and to create a world where new work gets a chance to be made.
Also, I love collaboration--- but that’s the theatre nerd in me.
Brandi Underwood (she/her) is a playwright, dramaturg, and director located in Philadelphia. Currently, she is getting her MFA in Musical Theatre Collaboration at Temple University. While working in Indianapolis, she collaborated and worked closely with American Lives Theatre both as a playwright and as a dramaturg to create opportunities for new work to be produced and developed within Indianapolis. She was a founding member of Fat Turtle Theatre Company, where she created an incubation playwriting program, developing and producing three new plays by three Indianapolis playwrights. She has studied under Sam Carner, Jenny Stafford, Zina Goldrich, and Marcie Heisler.
